Swedish Postcode Foundation
The purpose of the Swedish Postcode Foundation is to promote a sustainable development for mankind and nature through financial support to organizations and short-term projects that work towards a better world. The Swedish Postcode Foundation operates within two main areas: nature and the environment, and people's living conditions. By disseminating information and knowledge about the activities of the Swedish Postcode Foundation to a large public, the Foundation seeks to raise awareness of problems in our world and possible ways to respond to them.
The Swedish Postcode Foundation supports projects globally and they all have a fixed start and end date. The project should lead to a positive change and improvement that is clearly identifiable. A specific project can also be implemented jointly with other organisations to initiate a desirable and considerable change.
An organization is the legal entity to carry out the project. It is through such an organization that the Swedish Postcode Foundation usually channels its financial contributions and the organization is monitored to ensure that it can handle such grant. If more organizations join forces in a common project, it is usually one specific organization among them that assumes the role of being the financial coordinator.
The Swedish Postcode Foundation normally supports a project during one year. However, in rare cases support for a longer period of time can be provided. A possible renewal will then be discussed during the ongoing project implementation.
The board of the Swedish Postcode Foundation takes a formal decision of project support that exceeds 2 million crowns. A formal approval by the Swedish Gaming Board (Lotteriinspektionen), which is the central administrative authority for questions about gambling and lotteries, is always required.
