Football gives vulnerable children in Zambia the opportunity to go to school
The Postcode Foundation supports Chiparamba Foundation, which has developed a unique model were football becomes both an opportunity and a condition for vulnerable children in Zambia to go to school. In Zambia football is a national sport and for a great number of boys the dream is to become a professional football player. In Chiparamba football school, hundreds of boys get the opportunity to train football seven days a week, on one condition, that they go to school and do their home work. In this way football is not only the means to get them to school, but also to keep them there. Girl’s doesn’t play football in Zambia today; therefore each boy gets to bring a sister with him that could also attend school.
