Circus joy and entertainment to children in war-torn West Bank
For the children on the Palestinian West Bank, the war is highly present in everyday life. Children in hospitals or with disabilities are particularly vulnerable due to the lack of adequate resources and capacity to take care of them. Many children show clear signs of sadness, hopelessness and apathy. The organization Clowns without borders have a vast experience in working with children in vulnerable situations and has since 2005 worked in the area of Nablus on the West Bank. Together with local artist groups they perform interactive circus entertainment with the purpose to spread joy and hope to the vulnerable children and their families.
