Swedish technology contributes to solar energy and new livelihood opportunities in remote villages in northern India
The Swedish Postcode Foundation supports a project that provides two villages in rural India with solar energy. Through the project the villages will become completely self-supporting on green renewable energy, which will contribute to reduced carbon emissions and a better environment. Additionally, the project creates new livelihoods opportunities, and also contributes to increased gender equality as women engineers are educated to handle the daily operation of the solar cells.
