Recycling and respect for nature

The goal of the Keep Sweden Tidy foundation is to make Sweden the cleanest country in the world, and the Postcode Foundation is supporting this work. Since 1989 keep Sweden Tidy has been arranging its "litter picking days" a manifestation against litter where volunteers from across the country get to the grips with the litter which comes to light after the spring thaw.

The gatherings attract people of all ages, but mainly children and young people who get involved through school activities. To help children understand how litter affects animals and wildlife as well as the relationship between recycling and energy efficiency, schools are offered exiting teaching materials for use in connection with the litter picking days.

Through its support to the litter picking days the Postcode Foundation wants to help future generations take an integrated approach to environmental issues where recycling and respect for nature and its inhabitants goes without saying.
