Reducing greenhouse gas emissions

The Swedish Postcode Foundation supports the Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI), which the William J. Clinton Foundation launched in 2006 to create and advance solutions to the core issues driving climate change. CCI takes a holistic approach, addressing the major sources of greenhouse gas emissions and the people, policies, and practices that impact them.

Working with governments and businesses around the world, CCI focuses on three strategic program areas: reducing emissions in cities, catalyzing the large-scale supply of clean energy, and working to stop deforestation. The Postcode Foundation specifically supports the CCI Cities Program which works with C40 cities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The C40 is an organization of large and engaged cities from around the world committed to implementing meaningful and sustainable climate-related policies and programs locally to address climate change globally. CCI/C40 project work includes waste management improvement, energy efficient buildings and low carbon transportation.
