The Postcode Foundation supports the Global Fairness Initiative that through structured efforts manages to reduce poverty among the Mayan population in Guatemala. Although, more than 60 percent of the country’s total population belongs to the Mayan, they still live under difficult conditions were they are being socially marginalized and exposed to structured racism and poverty. A great deal of today’s problems originates from existing structures in society hence; the Mayan population lacks opportunities to chance the situation by themselves. The personal at GFI are experts in finding sustainable economic solutions based on the benefits of the people. This, combined with well-established contacts at government level, helps GFI to provide a unique opportunity to tackle social problems, from governmental down to grassroots level.
