A unique project with Star for Life to prevent the spread of HIV among young people in Namibia
The project is carried out with the vision to inspire young people to believe in their future and to support them to live a life free from AIDS.
Star for Life operates in schools during a period of three years. The core part of the program is to train students and teachers in topics related to HIV/ Aids such as risk behaviors, gender and health. Additionally the Star for Life’s coaches has continuing discussions with the students to talk about their dreams and expectations for the future. A strong belief in the future can be crucial in whether a student chooses to follow the information regarding risk behaviors and HIV transmission. To ensure a continuing of the training after the program is finished, teachers are educated during two years after the program has ended.
In this project more than 16 000 students will be included in the education and get important knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
