Reducing the level of extremism
The Postcode Foundation supports the association Teskedsorden in their work to reduce the level of extremism within the young Swedish society.
Teskedsorden is a nonprofit initiative that, among other things, publishes and hands out the book Hur man botar en fanatiker (How to heal a fanatic) to students in Swedish high schools.
In the book, the Israeli writer Amos Oz discusses issues regarding fanaticism and the importance of compromise. The book also discusses the conflict between Israel and Palestine together with suggestions on how different types of compromises can bring the two countries closer to a peace agreement.
The book also discusses various social issues that we meet in our social life and the reader can easily draw parallels to themselves and their everyday lives. How to cure a fanatic is sent to schools along with a teacher's guide.
