The Swedish Postcode Foundation supports Transparency International with the purpose to fight corruption in twenty-five European countries.
Corruption deepens poverty, undermines democracy and the protection of human rights, it harms international trade, hamper investments and undermine confidence in social institutions. In Sweden, corruption become part of the agenda due to the bribery scandal within in the Gothenburg municipality, and according to the EU Commission 75% of the Europeans finds corruption to be a problem in their country.
The Postcode Foundation supports Transparency International, an international organization working against corruption since 1993. The project aims to identify and prevent corruption in 25 European countries, including Sweden. The survey will include everything from the legal systems to political parties and private companies and will ultimately result in both national and international activities that ought to have an effective role in the fight against corruption.
