Increased awareness of women's rights
In large parts of the world, women suffer from daily and structured discrimination. They are often deprived the right to liberty, to their own body and to the possibility to influence their lives and the society at large. Additionally many women lack the knowledge about their rights and how to claim them. In Sweden, most women have the knowledge, but sometimes lack the ability and courage to stand up for them.
UN Women has worked for women's rights since 1976 with the objective to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women. The Postcode Foundation supports a project executed by the UN Women National Committee in Sweden. The aim of the project is to raise awareness about women's rights by producing and distributing boxes of skill cards that educates the user regarding these issues. The cards are an innovative method to increase awareness of human rights and strengthen women's self-esteem both in Sweden and internationally.
